These sessions are not designed to treat mental health conditions. However, we welcome those who want to connect with others through life’s ups and downs.
The Teashop offers a variety of activities to enhance your mental wellbeing.
Why do we offer sessions focused on animals?
Stroking animals, such as cats or dogs, is shown to release serotonin. This calms the nervous system and reduces stress.
Why do we offer sessions focused on physical activity?
The mind and body are connected—when your body feels good, so does your mind! Physical activity and exercise have great positive impacts on mental health.
Why do we offer sessions focused on nature?
Breathing in fresh air and visiting green spaces can relieve mental stress, symptoms of anxiety and depression, and calm the mind.
Why do we offer sessions focused on the mind and mood?
Activities that help you look into your mind and your mood, like meditation or journaling, help you examine the stressors in your life and identify your strengths.
Why do we offer sessions focused on creative arts?
Research has suggested engaging in the creative arts, from writing to painting, has mental health benefits like reducing stress, improving mood, and activating reward pathways in the brain.
Why do all Teashop sessions center on social connection?
At the heart of each Teashop session is forming friendships with others because social connection is linked to better mental health outcomes.
