If you're experiencing a crisis and require immediate support, there are numerous helplines that have trained professionals available to listen to you right now. You can feel confident that they won't pass judgement, and they may assist you in comprehending the emotions you're experiencing.

  1. Shout Crisis Text Line. Text "SHOUT" to 85258 to get 24/7 support from trained crisis volunteers

  2. CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably). 0800 58 58 58 (5pm-midnight daily, free and confidential helpline for men in the UK)

  3. Papyrus HOPELINEUK. 0800 068 4141 (Mon-Fri 9am-10pm, weekends and bank holidays 2pm-10pm. A confidential support and advice service for young people under 35 who are experiencing thoughts of suicide, or anyone concerned about a young person who might be experiencing suicidal feelings)

  4. The Silver Line. 0800 4 70 80 90 (24/7 free helpline for older people who may be lonely, isolated or in need of emotional support)

  5. SANEline. 0300 304 7000 (4.30pm–10.30pm every day)

  6. National Suicide Prevention Helpline UK. Offers a supportive listening service to anyone with thoughts of suicide. You can call them on 0800 689 5652 (6pm–3:30am every day)
